Spain halts Worldcoin crypto project over privacy concerns

The Spanish government’s data protection agency (AEPD) ordered Worldcoin to suspend activities for three months due to privacy concerns. Complaints about insufficient information and data protection have been filed. Regulators in Kenya, Germany, and France are also investigating Worldcoin’s operations. The decision was based on “exceptional circumstances” triggering the need to protect people’s personal data, AEPD said.
